Throughout the summer term all of Foremarke’s girls can be found amongst our glorious grounds enjoying their Rounders and developing their skills. All girls train weekly from the age of 7, and the game is very popular – the School fields two teams per age group from U9 to U11 level, and at U13 level up to six teams turn out against rival schools.
While our regular matches against schools in the Midlands and the North are a highlight, all girls are able to develop a taste for competitive Rounders through invitational tournaments at Junior level, and our annual House competition.
This ethos of fostering a love of Rounders for girls of all abilities is central to the sport at Foremarke, but that is not to say that the most able players are not driven to maximise their potential, and we have achieved real success on a National level.
Each year we enter the National IAPS competition at U11 level, becoming National Champions in 2010. At U13 level, we enter the National Jet Rounders competition, and Foremarke has been represented in the finals in each of the past three years, being crowned Champions in 2009 and Runners-up a year later.
Each year we enter the IAPS National competition at U11 level and the JET National competition for our U 13 girls. During recent years we have been hugely successful at both age groups.
