Pre-Prep is a lively, vibrant learning environment, where lessons are taught in and outside of the form room. We have created a warm, open and stimulating atmosphere, where the children are at the heart of our teaching and learning. From Rising 3’s to Year Two, children are happy, confident learners, who thrive on the challenges presented. Experienced, enthusiastic teachers and teaching assistants ensure that children have a positive, enjoyable and memorable experience within the Pre-Prep.

Pre-Prep has its own large, enclosed outdoor areas but makes full use of the beautiful 55 acre grounds in which Foremarke Hall is situated. Wellies are a must in the Pre-Prep as we embrace all weathers and learn how much fun the outdoors can be, whether it be rain or shine. Educational, seasonal walks enhance the curriculum as we take full advantage of the natural resources available to us.

Throughout the Pre-Prep, children benefit from lessons taught by specialist teachers. From Nursery through to Year Two, children enjoy Drama and Music. Reception, Year One and Year Two children have Games lessons, where they use the main Sports Hall and the sports fields and astro turf. Year One and Year Two children begin French lessons. Reception children through to Year Two have timetabled Swimming lessons with a specialist teacher and Nursery children can attend a Parent/Child swimming session. These are all held in our on-site pool.

From Reception, children also have the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument and talents are demonstrated through Musical Assemblies and Morning Concerts.

We understand how important communication with parents is and take pride in the positive relationship we have created. Each term Pre-Prep parents receive a report and there are three Parents’ Evenings throughout the year. Parents can also arrange additional appointments at any time throughout the academic year to discuss their child’s progress.

Parents also receive a weekly newsletter, “The Foremarke Flyer”, in which the Pre-Prep have their own section. Here parents can see what the children have been doing in and out of the form room. The following week’s learning objectives are also published for Reception, Year One and Year Two. This allows parents to be involved in their child’s learning, providing opportunities to talk about what has been happening in lessons and supporting their child’s learning at home.

The school day is extended through a choice of activities. These include football, karate, ballet, gymnastics and clay modelling. As well as these, we provide an After School Club, between 4pm and 6pm, where children can play and interact in a safe, familiar environment.

Throughout the year Pre-Prep have a number of special days and celebrate key events. These include Harvest, Christmas and Easter, as well as the Macmillan Coffee Morning, Spring Celebrations, Sports Day and our own end of year Speech Day.

Transition from Pre-Prep to Lower School is extremely important and a careful programme has been put together to ensure children are fully confident when moving to the next stage of their life at Foremarke Hall.

We are very proud of our Pre-Prep and would welcome you to come and visit us for a tour of our wonderful facilities. We can also arrange for your child to attend a taster day to experience for themselves all that Pre-Prep has to offer.
