The Governors of Foremarke Hall are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Robert Relton as the eighth Headmaster of Foremarke Hall. Mr Relton succeeds Mr Richard Merriman who retires at the end of the Summer term.
Mr Relton is currently Principal of Repton Abu Dhabi, a Day School which educates children aged 3-11, a position he has held since May 2013. This is one of the Repton family of overseas Schools. Prior to his appointment at Repton Abu Dhabi, Mr Relton spent twelve years at a leading London preparatory school, Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School, as Deputy Head, Headmaster and Deputy Director of Education to London Preparatory Schools Ltd.
As Repton Abu Dhabi’s Founding Headmaster, Mr Relton was instrumental in establishing Repton Abu Dhabi, quite literally, from the ground up and has demonstrated a practical, can-do attitude. Repton Abu Dhabi enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its teaching and learning. During his tenure the Abu Dhabi Education Council regulatory and inspection body has rated the school very highly.
Educated at the College of St Mark and St John, Mr Relton’s teaching interests include Physical Education and the harnessing of opportunities to exploit technology in children’s learning. A highly experienced teaching professional, Mr Relton has over twenty years’ educational experience and is an accomplished Headmaster.
Mr Alastair Land, Headmaster of Repton School, commented: “I am delighted at the prospect of working with Robert Relton, he is a consummate educational leader with a broad experience who will do great things for Foremarke Hall and Repton.”
Mr Relton will take up the position of Headmaster of Foremarke Hall in September 2018. He will be joined by his wife, Lola, shortly to become a Consultant Eye Surgeon, and his three young sons.
