Foremarke Hall, Repton preparatory school has been included in a list of the country’s top independent schools produced by glossy society magazine Tatler.
Earlier this year the school was invited by Tatler to submit a range of information about itself, including details of activities available to pupils, what it feels makes the school so special, why its pupils stand out from the crowd and how its admissions procedure works.
Until it received notification in the last few days, the school had no idea that it had been included in the prestigious list.
In the introduction to the 2019 guide, Editor Tori Cadogan says: “Sometimes choosing the right school for your child can feel like a job best suited to Mystic Meg. But we’ve done most of the hard work for you. We’ve visited all the schools in this guide and I can confirm they are all amazing.”
The entry for Foremarke, Repton’s prep school, includes: “Foremarke is after children with a zest for life and twinkle in the eye.
“There are a number of ex-professional sports coaches and three cheers for the Warhammer team, who qualified for national semi-finals.”
Recent and forthcoming developments, including the arrival of new Headmaster Robert Relton and the new “space-age glass dining room” are also mentioned.
Mr. Relton, who receives a vote of confidence in the Tatler entry “we remember him … and are sure he’ll do great things”, says: “We are delighted to have been included in the Guide for the fourth year in succession, underlining our consistent high standards, breadth of achievement and attention to wellbeing.
A half page photograph of Foremarke Hall, taken from the back of the main building and featuring pupils on the pool bench, is also included in the Guide – now available as a supplement with October’s Tatler magazine.
